Baliho TIZEN

Initially expected to be launched sometime in the third quarter this year, the first Tizen smartphone was later delayed to the last quarter, with rumors hinting at a launch in late October. Now, a report claims that it was co-CEO JK Shin himself had ordered the first Tizen device to be delayed, in order to give the company time to create "the best smartphone."

Samsung was said to be testing Tizen on a Galaxy S3, hinting at the first Tizen phone using the S3′s hardware, but those plans were apparently scrapped to keep up with the changing hardware trends (hopefully, that doesn't mean Tizen needs high-end hardware to offer a good experience). Samsung engineers were reportedly quick to point out that the delay doesn't mean there are any issues with the OS, but that they only want to make it as good and feature-packed as possible before putting the first Tizen device out in the market.

Well, I guess we'll see how good it really is whenever it launches. Fingers crossed that the extra time Samsung is taking translates into an actually nice device coupled with equally good software, even if the market might not be too embracing of a fourth ecosystem (not that that will deter Samsung).
