The Galaxy S4 Active, the rugged and toughened sibling of Samsung's flagship, has been available in Australia in stores for some time now, but for those looking to buy the device on a contract (and hence save on what they pay outright) will have to be Vodafone customers, as the carrier has gained exclusive rights to offer the device on a contract.

When it comes to the specs, the S4 Active is mostly the same as the S4, though with an LCD display and an 8-megapixel camera (with a special 'Aqua Mode' to take underwater pictures). Rest of the specs include a 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE, and NFC connectivity, 16GB internal storage and a microSD slot, a 2600mAh battery, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. For the dust and water-protection, there's IP67 certification as well, including physical buttons for increased durability.
