Samsung might not have been successful in its endeavors to incorporate proper LTE support in its Exynos series of mobile chipsets, but the Korean manufacturer is responsible for Sprint's newly launched TD-LTE network in the US, as confirmed in a press release today. Samsung Mobile will provide radio network infrastructure, as well as implementation services, to deliver faster and more efficient internet speeds to consumers.

"We are honored and proud that Sprint has selected Samsung Mobile to support the implementation of their 2.5GHz LTE-TDD network, following our previous award for the operator's LTE-FDD deployment. This is another proof point for the innovation that Samsung is bringing to the wireless network industry," said Myung-ho Jung, Vice President of Samsung Telecommunications America.
