Samsung recently announced plans to launch two affordable handsets in India, and it looks like the company is putting those plans into motion with the Galaxy Trend DUOS. The device quietly went up for sale in the country from online retailer Snapdeal for Rs. 8,490, and later by retailers such as Flipkart, even though it's yet to be officially announced by Samsung or listed on its official website.

At the aforementioned price, the Galaxy Trend is the cheapest Samsung handset in India with a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800) screen and a dual-core processor (a low-end Cortex-A5 chipset, nothing fancy). Other features include a 3-megapixel rear camera, 4GB internal memory expandable via microSD card, 512MB RAM, dual SIM slots, a 1,500mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Galaxy Trend DUOS' biggest competitor will be Nokia's Lumia 520, which sells for a similar price and offers an arguably better software experience (though with less customization and fewer apps), so apart from Samsung's popularity in the country, the dual SIM slots will likely be the one feature that will make people go with the Galaxy Trend. It's available to order at the links below, if you're interested.
