The holiday season has pretty much begun, and it's that time of the year when many folks will be buying new smartphones and tablets, especially through deals and other discounts that run amok among retailers and carriers. To prepare for the increased demand of tablets in the holiday season, Samsung has reportedly increased its tablet shipments for Q4 2013 from 10 million to 12 million, and is expected to ship up to 37 million tablets combined with Apple, which has also taken its tablet shipments up a notch.

Basically, Samsung shows no signs of stopping its assault on the mobile market, with the increased shipments expected to help the company grab additional tablet market share, as it prepares to focus on tablets going forward. So the next time you see too many Samsung tablets out in the wild, you'll know what the reason is behind it.
