Amazon offering 50GB of free cloud storage with numerous Samsung handsets in the US

Cloud storage isn't exactly the most optimal solution for the data storage needs of most folks, but it's still always nice to see that your cloud storage accounts have lots of space available. Amazon understands that, and as a holiday promotion, the retailer is offering 50 GB of free storage on its Cloud Drive service to buyers of numerous carrier-branded Samsung handsets, for all purchases made till December 31st.

After you purchase the phone, the additional storage will be added to your account within 10 days. There's a catch here: that extra storage will expire in a year, after which you'll have to either take your files elsewhere or start paying for a premium subscription. Other storage providers usually give a two-year validity on extra storage, but since they're not exactly giving away free cloud bandwidth with these phones, you'll have to make do with Amazon for the time being.
