Google wasn't joking when they said that the Google Play Edition phones would receive quick software updates, as only a few weeks after build JWR66Y of Android 4.3 was rolled out to Nexus devices, the latest version of the OS is now being pushed to the Google Play Edition (GPe) of the Samsung Galaxy S4 (and the HTC One). Sure, it did take a couple of weeks, but that's a million times better than the wait non-Nexus devices usually have in store for such updates.
JWR66Y is a minor update that clocks in at around 2MB, and includes security fixes to make Android more secure, though what exactly those fixes are is something Google never mentioned (it likely includes a fix for the Bitcoin vulnerability found in Android). The update has begun rolling out over-the-air (OTA), but as always, it will be a while before everyone gets it (you can force a check in Settings » About phone » System updates) menu.
Any of you GS4 GPe owners received the update yet?
