It's no secret that after Apple, it's Samsung that sells the highest amount of smartphones in the U.S.. Well, people must be really impressed by Samsung's marketing for smartphones, as according to a report by Wall Street Journal, the company's reputation as a heavyweight in the smartphone market has helped them increase sales of refrigerators as well!

Samsung has built up a market share of around 10 percent in the home appliance market in the USA, a four times increase in the last five years, with a marketing budget of almost $600 million last year. "We often hear, 'Oh, I have one of their phones,'" says Rocco Perla, a household appliance dealer from Pittsburgh, who places the machines from Samsung in his shop prominently.

I guess with no software updates to worry about in the refrigerator business, there must be more happy fridge customers in the Samsung camp than the smartphone ones, eh?
